Lucien Platt was born in 1909, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lehigh University in 1931. While a student, Platt was a member of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity, the Interfraternity Council, and the baseball team. Following graduation, Platt actively supported his alma mater, and was a member of the Asa Packer Giving Society. He established the Lucien Platt Fund to support Lehigh’s endowment.
Platt retired from a successful career as president of Litchfield Paper Company, and as an avid golfer, retired to a golfing community in Boynton Beach, Fla., where he passed away in 1999. He and his late wife had two sons, Richard and Lucien, Jr., member of Lehigh’s Class of 1964.
