The Lehigh Liners
Lehigh Liners is an outreach program through the Office of Development & Alumni Relations, where current Lehigh students serve as ambassadors for the university while calling undergraduate and graduate alumni, parents and friends. Liners call to gain support for the current year’s Annual Giving campaign and to provide campus updates and information. Liners call during both fall and spring semesters and optionally during the summer when classes are in session. Liners is a fun and energetic job for those who enjoy engaging with others.
The Office of Development & Alumni Relations employs approximately 45 students through the Lehigh Liners program. It is an on-campus opportunity which supports both work study and wage students. Liners are expected to work two, three-hour shifts for a total of six hours per week. Liners call Sunday-Thursday from 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Liners are able to pick two shifts out of the five total weekly shifts available that best fit into their schedule at the beginning of each semester. The starting pay for Liners is $10.00 per hour, plus incentives.
Liners are looking for Lehigh students who are dependable, enthusiastic, knowledgeable about Lehigh and have excellent telephone communication skills. Being a Liner also requires a skill set to balance team work with independent work during calling shifts. Calling on behalf of the Office of Development & Alumni Relations requires mandatory training sessions before calling starts to further understand the goals of the Lehigh Fund. Annual Giving supports many areas on campus ranging from financial aid, to residential colleges, to fellowships, etc.
Throughout your position with the Lehigh Liners, there will be continuous training to remain current with the Lehigh Fund campaign and initiative status.
Being a Lehigh Liner also provides great resources and networking opportunities for internships and potential job opportunities. It creates an opportunity for you to receive advice from former Lehigh students who can provide valuable insight. Lehigh Liners is also good work experience to list on your resume.
