Julie and Jordan Hitch 1988

Julie ’20P ’21P and Jordan Hitch ’88 ’20P ’21P are deeply engrained within the Lehigh community as alumni, parents, benefactors, and volunteer leaders. Jordan received his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering and was a member of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. As an alumnus, he has been truly dedicated to the growth and development of the university, serving as a Lehigh appointed trustee, chair of the finance committee, and a member of the campus planning and operations, investment, and executive committees. He is also a member of the Lehigh Wall Street Council and, along with Julie, a member of the Parents’ Council.

Julie and Jordan established the Julie and Jordan Hitch ’88 Endowed Scholarship Fund to provide financial aid to deserving students. With a recent transformative gift to capital projects, they will be leaving their literal mark on the campus landscape by supporting the construction of the New Residential Houses. The Hitch House will be a centerpiece of student life on the Asa Packer Campus. The Hitches have also supported Africana Studies and the Lehigh Fund.

After graduating from Lehigh, Jordan went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He was formerly a managing director at Bain Capital, one of the world’s leading private, alternative asset management firms. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Jordan was a consultant at Bain & Company, where he worked in the financial services, healthcare, and utility industries. He is currently an active private investor and serves on the board of Bright Horizons Family Solutions, Burlington Stores, and Helix Sleep.

Julie graduated from St. Lawrence University and received a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Arizona. Together, the Hitches support many philanthropic initiatives in and around their community, including environmental organizations, healthcare, and youth education and development.

The Hitches have four children – Emma, Charlie ’20, Tyler ’21, and Lily. Julie and Jordan currently reside in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
