Hannah and James D. Miller 1964, 1967G

James “Jim” and Hannah Miller have been dedicated members of the Lehigh community for many years. They are loyal supporters of several areas of the Lehigh experience ― including scholarships and financial aid, athletics, international internships, and the Lehigh Fund ― and they are recognized as Asa Packer Society, Tower Society, and South Mountain Society donors. Their most recent contributions will help enhance Lehigh’s baseball program and facilities and support the construction of the new business building.
Jim graduated from Lehigh with his bachelor’s in business administration in 1964 and his MBA in 1967. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst certification in 1971. Since then, he has had a vast and impressive career in finance. He was the vice president and manager of personal investments at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; the managing director and chief investment officer of the Private Investment Group of Continental Bank in Chicago, Illinois; the executive vice president and chief investment officer at Bank of America; and the founder and chairman of Chicago Equity Partners. 
Jim is now retired. He and Hannah currently divide their time between Sanibel, Florida, and Stone Harbor, New Jersey. They have two children, Gregory Miller ’87 and Diane Svanson ’90, and several grandchildren, including Matthew Svanson ’21 and Jennifer Svanson ’23.
