Lynn L. 1978 and Douglas A. Borck 1978, 2005P, 2007P

Both Lynn and Doug Borck are 1978 graduates of Lehigh University earning bachelor of science degrees in business economics. While undergraduates, Lynn played women’s tennis, and Doug was a member of Delta Phi and Beta Alpha Psi, a national accounting honor society.

After graduation, Doug joined RLC Electronics, Inc., a leader in creating and producing transmission line components for the microwave industry. He became vice president in 1980 and has served as the firm’s president since 2000, co-owning the company with his father Charles who started the business in 1959.

Doug has served on the College of Business and Education Advisory Council, and currently is a member of Lehigh’s Wall Street Council. Lynn is a member of the university’s Career Advisory Network, and the Lehigh Leadership Council. She is also an active volunteer in the community specifically with non-profit organizations for education, health, and children. She previously co-chaired the Friends of the Chappaqua Library. Prior to having children, she held both public relations and marketing positions. Both she and Doug were members of their class’ 25th Reunion Fund Committee.

For decades, the Borcks have given back to Lehigh on both a philanthropic and volunteer level and are the youngest alumni couple to become Leadership Plaza donors. They are long-time members of the Asa Packer Society and the Tower Society, Lehigh’s leadership giving societies. Their lifetime contributions include supporting the Shine Forever campaign, the Dean’s Strategic Initiatives Fund for the College of Business and Economics, and establishing three endowed funds.

In 2000, the Lynn L. and Douglas A. Borck ’78 Endowment Fund was created to benefit strategic endeavors in e-commerce and technology and has significantly supported technology purchases in Lehigh’s Financial Services Lab.  The second fund, the Lynn L. ’78 and Douglas A. Borck ’78 Endowed Scholarship Fund, has supported three students since it began in 2007. One successful alumnus of this scholarship now works in the financial services area in New York. The third fund, created in 2007, was the Lynn L. and Douglas A. Borck ’78 Fund for Business Ethics and supports opportunities for Lehigh students to have access to business ethics education and activities.

The Borcks live in Chappaqua, New York and have two children who are also Lehigh alumni, Jennifer ’05 and Jeffrey ’07.
